Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Victoria (HFHV) is a Christian ecumenical housing ministry. The mission is to eliminate substandard housing by building quality, low-cost homes in partnership with low-income families and the Victoria community. Corporations, foundations, individual donors and the HFHV ReStore Outlet fund these houses. Families partner by making a small down payment, attending homeowner education classes and working 300 hours of 'sweat equity' for each adult who will live in the house. They purchase their homes at cost and pay the purchase price back over a 30-year period with no interest.
