Why You Should Give

The Victoria County United Way (VCUW) Campaign is a proven way to help meet the health and human service needs in our community. It is effective, efficient and accountable. Your contribution stays here at home. A very small percentage is sent to pay United Way of America and United Way of Texas affiliation fees.

Your gift to VCUW goes far. Some affiliated agencies are able to leverage the funding they receive from VCUW to receive matching grants that multiply their grant allocations by as much as $20 for every $1 received from United Way.

The annual campaign gives a voice to those in our community who are unable to reach out for help. United Way is not just a fundraising federation. It facilitates community collaboration to ensure that communities' needs are addressed. It provides information and referrals to the community at large.

Ten Reasons Why Your Business Should Run a United Way Campaign

  1. United Way is Results Oriented. Programs are funded based on results/outcomes versus outputs/efforts. United Way helps people to become self-sufficient and contributing members of our community.
  2. United Way Helps the Most People. Employees give to one organization to help the most. Running an annual campaign is a very efficient use of staff time and resources. The United Way campaign has a broad reach, which includes a massive networking of health and human services that touch many households each year-including the lives of your employees and their families.
  3. United Way Campaigns are Fun. Company-wide employee campaigns are fun and build employee morale. Employees have the opportunity to strengthen team-building skills while managing successful campaigns. Organizations seldom have unsuccessful United Way campaigns. United Way is experienced at tailoring a campaign to your workplace and your needs.
  4. United Way Brings Us Together. Our approach brings together grassroots' efforts, business, government, education, health care, and social services to address community problems and measure the progress being made.
  5. United Way Inspires People to Do More. Employees feel good about giving, knowing that their donations directly help those who need help the most. Our community is strengthened and helped by United Way funded programs. Employees like to work for a company that cares.
  6. United Way Cares About Our Community. United Way funding focuses on people and issues close to us; families, children and youth, older adults, and concerns of health, wellness, and basic needs. Healthy communities lead to healthy workplaces.
  7. United Way is Efficient. Low administrative and fundraising costs means that most of every dollars goes to services in the community. Annual independent auditors ensure that your donations are handled with care and stewardship. Donations are wisely invested in high-quality, results-oriented programs.
  8. United Way is Dependable. For years, The Victoria County United Way has been here, continuing to build a better and more caring community. We want your business and your customers to enjoy the quality of life that comes with a caring community.
  9. United Way -- Is the Right Way To Do It. It heals hurts, and offers a hand to people who need help the most. As a Victoria County business leader, if our United Way did not exist, you would find a way to create one.
  10. United Way Gives. People. Hope. Hope for those who receive and for those who give.
