COVID-19 RELIEF FUND
The Golden Crescent Community Organizations Active in Disasters (GCCOAD) and the Victoria County United Way have created a COVID-19 Relief Fund that will deploy resources to residents and community-based organizations impacted by the coronavirus outbreak in the Golden Crescent region in Texas. The Golden Crescent covers a 7-county region, including: Victoria, DeWitt, Calhoun, Goliad, Gonzales, Lavaca, and Jackson counties. The Fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.
The Victoria County United Way will administer the grants in partnership with GCCOAD. Together, we will properly identify potential grant recipients based on recommendations from a community committee. Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis, making it possible to move resources quickly and adapt to evolving needs in subsquent funding phases. The Fund expects to make an initial round of funding within the next few weeks.

Residential Household Community Organization
While Residential Household assistance will only be considered during Phase 1 of funding, we anticipate multiple phases of funding for Community Organizations to address both the acute needs now and the longer-term impacts of the outbreak and recovery. We understand that the pandemic is impacting nonprofits in many ways, including increased demand for services and/or lost revenue due to closures and cancellation.
